Best flat glass window film installation training in the country — worth every penny!

I just completed the 5-day flat glass window tint training course at The Tint Tutor in West Berlin, NJ, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I run a mobile automotive window tinting business in San Diego and wanted to expand into architectural window film — residential and commercial flat glass. After researching window film training programs all over the US, I chose The Tint Tutor, and it was 100% the right decision.

The curriculum covers every aspect of flat glass tinting.

By day 5, I was confidently installing film on storefront glass, block-wall windows, and specialty shapes on my own. The photos I’m posting show the actual training facility and the real windows you practice on — this place is set up like a working shop, not a classroom.

Program Itinerary

Day 1: Introduction to Window Films and Safety

Day 2: Tools, Equipment, and Surface Preparation

Identifying glass surfaces and surface preparation techniques.
Hands-on experience in surface preparation and cleaning methods.

Day 3: Window Film Application Techniques

Understanding adhesive application and release liner removal.
Trimming and finishing practices.
Field trip: Visit to a job site to observe technicians in action.**

Techniques for handling curved and irregular glass surfaces.
Advanced skills for custom designs and patterns.

Day 5: Business Basics, Safety and Review

Basics of starting a window film installation business.
Marketing and customer service strategies.
Discussion on the importance of building a strong reputation and network.

Afternoon Session:

Review of safety regulations, compliance, and environmental considerations.
Hands-on project involving the application of window film.
Review any specific techniques upon request.

Information About Job Site Visits

The addition of a job site visit offers students a practical understanding of real-world installations and the opportunity to observe experienced professionals in action. The scaffolding, ladder work, and rigging provide hands-on training in a specialized aspect of window film installation, especially when dealing with large commercial or architectural projects.
